If they don’t trade him by next week, I think they may re-sign him this summer and try to trade him during next season, he is too good of a player for them to lose for nothing, especially when they’re trying to build.
As Hamilton mentions, there’s absolutely no way the Pistons are going to lose Monroe for nothing – so the most likely scenario out of a trade in the coming days would be for the team to either re-sign Monroe and then trade him down the road or allow a team to engage in a potential sign-and-trade scenario.
Of course, this all depends on if the Pistons truly want to move on from Monroe.
