The Sacramento Kings have a handful of intriguing trade pieces, but Basketball Insiders Moke Hamilton expects the struggling franchise to have a quiet deadline.

Hamilton notes that the Kings are very open to trading guard Marcus Thornton and power forward Jason Thompson, but isn’t sure there is a market for either.

From what I hear, Thompson is a player they’ve been in favor of moving for quite some time. Thornton, I’m not so sure about, but with the crowded backcourt they have there, dealing him may make some sense.

Ultimately, I think it’ll be a pretty quiet deadline for the Kings, though.

Other names suggested by fellow insiders in recent weeks to be on the trade block for the Kings are forward Carl Landry and guard Jimmer Fredette, though neither player would bring much of a return for the Kings who are likely looking to make a splash in terms of name talent.

It’s been said the Kings are no longer interested in parting with their first round pick – something they reportedly explored a few weeks ago after acquiring Rudy Gay from the Toronto Raptors.
