Both Slovakia and Slovenia will be looking to get into the win column when the face off in their second contest of the 2014 Winter Olympics men’s ice hockey tournament. Slovakia was hammered by the United States by a 7-1 final in their opening contest. Jaroslav Halak was pulled and currently sports a GAA that is higher than eight, and the Slovaks will need a better effort from just about everyone to get the job done against Slovenia.
The Slovenians didn’t win their first game either, but they weren’t beaten quite as badly by a fired up and hungry Russian team. With both squads sitting at 0-1 and in desperate need of a win in the preliminary round, this contest has the ingredients to be a special and entertaining one.
