Sochi Olympics, ladies aerials qualifying results: USA’s Ashley Caldwell leads all qualifiers

After the first run in qualifying for the ladies aerials competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics, United States freeskier Ashley Caldwell leads all qualifiers with an impressive score of 101.25. Caldwell leads the field by nearly 15 points, with no other competitor able to crack an 87 on their first run.

With her performance, Caldwell immediately advances to the finals alongside fellow American Emily Cook and four others.

Six more competitors will advance to the finals following the second run.

Not only is Caldwell currently the top qualifier in the ladies aerials competition, but her first run was a historic one.

The finals will be held at 12:30 p.m. ET, with live coverage available on NBC Olympics Live Extra.
