2014 Sochi Olympics Medal Count following Day 8


Day 8 of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi are in the books, and there was plenty of movement in the overall medal count following another full day of action. Entering the day, Norway held a slight lead, but leaving today they are currently in fourth-place.

Host nation Russia is atop the overall medal count with four gold medals, six silver and five bronze medals.

The Netherlands is sitting in second, while the United States is in third. Germany sits comfortably in the fifth-overall position, with seven gold medals which is the most among the nations participating in the Sochi Games.
