NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics GM knows nothing about Rajon Rondo rumors

Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge says the team is looking to trade some of their veteran players, but he doesn’t know anything about the rumors of star star point guard Rajon Rondo being moved.

Rondo’s name has been thrown into the trade winds given the status of the Celtics franchise and his soon to be pending contractual situation, but Ainge has continually denied any trade involving Rondo will take place.

Today seemed to be no different.

“I honestly haven’t paid that much attention to it. I’ve been asked those questions before, but I don’t know anything about those rumors. It’s all a little crazy.”

Some believe the Celtics would be best served by hanging on to Rondo moving forward while others feel the team needs to let go, suggesting that Rondo will be on the downswing of his career by the time the Celtics are competitive again.

Of course, Ainge has little reason to admit to any such move involving Rondo – though didn’t deny that they were attempting to move veteran players, most likely Brandon Bass and Gerald Wallace.
