The Dallas Mavericks like their team. It’s been reported by multiple insiders and now general manager Donnie Nelson has echoed a similar sentiment, suggesting that making a move at the trade deadline seems unlikely.
Nelson was asked about the upcoming deadline and if he feels the team will make any deals.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve. Now with that being said, all of the parts are pretty intricately in twined. To get you got to give and right now the team is looking good and we’re not looking for reasons to change, but if something presented itself, obviously we’ll look at it.”
Of course, Nelson wouldn’t really stand much of an advantage to say they were out there actively looking to make a move or to trade a particular player, so his response should be taken with a grain of salt.
That said, we’ve heard the Mavericks are content to stay where they’re at quite often in the past few weeks and it makes sense given they don’t want to jeopardize any of their upcoming available cap space.
