NBA Trade Rumors: Magic not expected to make any deals

The Orlando Magic are listening, but that doesn’t mean they’re eager to make a deal come the NBA’s trade deadline.

That’s the word from Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders who says the Magic feel prime trade chip Arron Afflalo is part of the organizations future and that moves will be few and far between.

The Magic continue to view Arron Afflalo as a piece that fits the big picture plan. His age and contract are workable no rush to change that.

The Magic are not expected to be players at the trade deadline. They are open to listening, but nothing has to happen for them by the 20th.

Of course, that’s the stance a lot of teams have come the days before the deadline. When rival GM’s start to panic and overpay for players, that’s when trade talks really start to heat up.

The Magic understandably want a significant price for Afflalo and have no reason to trade the 27-year-old if that price isn’t met.

Their stance could change in the coming days, however.
