Will McGirt leads the Northern Trust Open by two strokes heading into the final round. Charlie Beljan and George McNeill are in second place at 10-under par.
After two near misses at the Canadian Open the last couple seasons, McGirt is closing in on his first PGA Tour victory. McGirt shot a brilliant six-under 65 yesterday, and is showing few signs of nerves.
Charlie Beljan continues to impress with his strong play at Riviera. He lost in a playoff last year, and is right back in contention at 10-under par.
George McNeill is having a good season after an off-year in 2013. He is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, and has a great chance to claim his third victory.
Jason Allred and Brian Harman are in fourth place at nine-under. Allred Monday qualified for the Northern Trust and has been on fire the last two rounds shooting 64-67. The journeyman is looking for his first victory on the PGA Tour, and is loving every moment of it.
Harman is a young talent on the PGA Tour who has two top tens this season. In the third round, he went five-under through the first six holes, and will be looking for a similar start today. He may be the player who puts pressure on the leaders as he goes for his first PGA Tour win as well.
Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, Dustin Johnson, Sang-Moon Bae, Charl Schwartzel, and Cameron Tringale are tied for sixth place at eight-under. If the leaders stumble, a round in the mid-60s will go a long way at day’s end.
