Charlie Strong's new motto: ‘Put the ‘T’ back into Texas,' what does it mean?

The Texas Longhorns have a new head coach in Charlie Strong and he wanted this job. Now that he has it, he is trying to implement a new attitude and mindset with a simple slogan, “putting the ‘T’ back into Texas.”

“You have to coach it, you have to recruit it and you have to be about it. I have a slogan, there’s a t-shirt. It says, ‘Put the ‘T’ back into Texas.’ No. 1 is toughness. No. 2 is trust, togetherness, teamwork. Those things have to be done,” Strong told Austin-area TV station KXAN on Thursday, via the Dallas Morning News.

It is a catchy and simple slogan that could bring about an new attitude and mindset for the football team.

Strong also said that everyone has advice for him.

“Everybody has advice for you. Everybody has an opinion. More than anything I think that everybody wants to meet you, and then when they do have an opportunity they don’t know when to say, ‘OK, I have to go. It’s time for me to move in.’ ”
