The University of Texas is one of the four programs — along with Louisville, Hawaii, and TCU — that former USC Trojans quarterback Max Wittek has said he would be interested in transferring to. While Wittek hasn’t picked a destination yet, his review of Austin after visiting on Monday should make Longhorns fans optimistic.
Wittek told Orange Bloods that his trip to Austin exceeded his expectations:
Everything about my trip (to Texas) was awesome. From the coaches to the players, the school, the campus – it all probably exceeded what I thought it would be.
From the time I got to Austin on Saturday, Coach (Shawn) Watson and I were talking ball. A lot of the concepts they are talking about, I ran at Mater Dei (high school). So I already feel comfortable.
Wittek also complimented Texas head coach Charlie Strong, calling him a “no nonsense” guy.
As a sophomore last season, Wittek threw for 212 yards for the Trojans. He threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns in 2012.
