The Mississippi State Bulldogs continue to be one of the most active programs on the recruiting trail for the class of 2015 as Dontea Jones (Louisville, Miss. Louisville) committed today to become their ninth commitment in a class that ranks third nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-4, 200-pound wide receiver is a four-star prospect according to 247Sports and the No. 189 recruit, No. 21 wide receiver and the No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi.

Jones named Mississippi State his leader after attending the school’s junior day earlier this month and picked the Bulldogs over offers from the Ole Miss Rebels, Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators and Vanderbilt Commodores, among others.

Over the last two seasons, Jones has recorded 88 receptions for 1,488 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Of the nine recruits in the Magnolia State to already commit to a program, Mississippi State has six of the top 20 recruits in the state as Dan Mullen’s team makes an early statement that they will be bringing the top in-state talent to Starkville.

It’s a long way til signing day for the class of 2015, but Mississippi State has positioned themselves to have a very nice class.
