The Boston Celtics apparently are open to trading point guard Rajon Rondo, assuming you meet their elevated asking price.
What’s the price, you ask? Two unprotected first round draft picks, this according to Sam Smith of Bulls.com.
The asking price if you can get Rondo is said to be two unprotected first rounders.
The suggestion is a little vague as two first round draft picks from the San Antonio Spurs or Miami Heat are quiet different from two first round draft picks from the Milwaukee Bucks or Sacramento Kings, so we’re under the assumption Smith is speaking more in regards to a lottery bound team.
It’s a hefty price considering teams are extremely reluctant to part with even one first round draft pick, let alone two that are unprotected moving forward.
If you’re curious, the New York Knicks – who’ve likely been the most interested in Rondo – don’t have a first rounder to trade until 2018, something the Celtics will obviously have no interest in.
