The New Orleans Hornets told Eric Gordon he would not be traded a few weeks back, but it appears there has been a change in their stance.
According to Sean Deveney, not only are the Pelicans open to moving Gordon, they’re willing to absorb salary if a trade nets them a big man in the process.
But the Pelicans are eager to add a big man to play next to Anthony Davis, and would be willing to take on salary if it meant shipping Gordon out.
Unfortunately for the Pelicans, there aren’t a lot of big man on the market. Add in that most teams probably aren’t clamoring at the idea of acquiring Gordon, his spotty knees and his albatross of a contract, the Pelicans will likely have a difficult time getting much of a return for the former Indiana star.
That said – they’re not letting that dash their hopes of finding a willing taker who has an available big man who can be paired with Davis.
It’s also been said through a variety of sources (for the past few weeks) that the Pelicans are open to moving Tyreke Evans in the right deal as well.
