NFL franchise tag numbers: How much will each position cost?

The window for each NFL team to franchise tag a pending free agent opened on Monday and runs through Monday, March 3, so it is decision-making time for every team around the league.
There are a handful of teams who are not expected to use the franchise tag in 2014, but plenty will be designating a key player with the one-year guaranteed offer.
How much does it cost to use the franchise tag?
Here is a look at what it will cost to tag a player at each position this season, according to the Jacksonville Jaguars official website:
- Quarterback: $16,086,000
- Defensive End: $12,475,000
- Wide Receiver: $11,539,000
- Cornerback: $11,256,000
- Offensive Linemen: $11,126,000
- Linebacker: $10,895,000
- Defensive Tackle: $9,182,000
- Running Back: $9,074,000
- Safety: $8,021,000
- Tight End: $6,709,000
- Kicker: $3,383,000
One of the most interesting players to watch over the next two weeks will be New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.
Graham will likely want to receive the franchise tender as a wide receiver, while the Saints would prefer to save $5 million by slapping the tag on him as a tight end. Whether or not this will sit well with Graham remains to be seen, so get your popcorn ready for what could be an interesting stand-off.
