Ole Miss LB Denzel Nkemdiche arrested

Ole Miss Rebels linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche celebrated his 21st birthday over the weekend and according to Hugh Kellenberger of the Clarion Ledger, he had a little too much fun and was arrested.

Nkemdiche was charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and failure to comply with a police officer around midnight Saturday, Oxford Police Chief Joey East said. All three are misdemeanors.

The arrest occurred at The Retreat, an Oxford apartment complex that is mainly occupied by students. Nkemdiche celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday.

Ole Miss has not commented on the arrest yet.

Nkemdiche, a 5’11, 207-pound linebacker out of Loganville, Georgia, has been excellent when healthy.  He was banged up during the 2013 season and finished with just 35 tackles. In 2012, Nkemdiche had 82 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions, giving him 117 tackles for his career.

He is the older brother of Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche. Robert Nkemdiche was the nation’s #1 recruit in the class of 2013 and chose Ole Miss over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers, among others, helping Ole Miss earn a top 10 recruiting class.
