Jan 26, 2014; Miami, FL, USA; Miami Heat shooting guard Ray Allen (34) looks on during the second half against the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Arena.

Ray Allen lost $30-40 K on Black Jack during the All-Star break

While the NBA was celebrating the All-Star Weekend, Miami Heat guard Ray Allen was playing Black Jack in Las Vegas. It didn’t go so well.

From TMZ Sports:

The Miami Heat superstar decided to try his luck with the cards on Saturday night … and posted up at a $1,000 minimum table in the exclusive Club Prive high-rollers lounge.

You can check out his stack (don’t worry, it’s OK to look) … it appears Ray was gambling with somewhere between 30 and 40 yellow chips ($1,000-a-pop).

Our casino sources who were there during the gambling run tell us Ray — who once signed an $80 MILLION contract — didn’t have a great showing at the table … and walked away empty handed.

Allen can afford to lose a bit of money. Aside from that $80 million dollar contract, Allen has made closer to $200 million in his entire NBA career. So losing $30-40k on blackjack is like playing with change.
