San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is a huge fan of curling and an honorary captain of the United States curling team, so he decided to attend the 2014 Winter Olympics to check out the action live.

Not only did Davis show up to watch the men’s curling team live and in action, but he stopped by the booth on the USA Network to call the game against Norway.

Every time Davis watches the United States play, he feels attached to the team and can’t wait to see how successful they can be.

“It’s like watching my kids play, watching my son play,” Davis said, via Olympic Talk. “I’m not playing, but I have a relationship with these guys. I want them to win.”

The United States men will not be advancing past the round robin portion of the tournament in the Winter Games, but at least Davis got the opportunity to watch his friends play as he enjoyed the Olympic experience in Sochi.
