X-Men: Days of Future Past – New Image Shows Beast Before the Fur

Earlier today, we showed you some new images from the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past courtesy of Total Film. However, it looks as if that is not the only new images we are getting to see today. Just a few hours ago, director Bryan Singer took to Twitter to give us another inside look at his latest mutant masterpiece.

Now, just in case you are still not familiar with the premise of the film here is quick once over of the official synopsis of X-Men: Days of Future Past courtesy of

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.”

In the new picture, we see a young Hank McCoy, who most of us will recognize as Beast. McCoy/Beast is portrayed in the film by Warm Bodies actor Nicholas Hoult. The only difference is, he looks nothing like Beast at all. There is no blue fur, fangs, claws, or anything that would clearly define him as a mutant. However, he is an incredibly smart man.

Now, we know that in some point we will see the much bluer version of the character. What we do not know is how we get from one point to another. Hopefully, this is not something we will find out until the film hits theaters. They have to leave you with something to be surprised about, right?

I am sure that this is not the last image or trailer that we will see from the mutant epic. We still have a little over three months until the release of the film, so  that is plenty of time for them to give us more little tidbits of information to hold us off until the film hits the big screens.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released on May 23, 2014.

… Did you not see X-Men: First Class? The transformation was already explained.

I think that’s the point he’s making. In media adaptations (And the comics that I’m aware of) the beast transformation is shown as a one time thing and we saw it happen in First Class so I think the author is questioning why he isn’t blue for the entirety of this film.
