NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock spoke on a conference call today about the upcoming NFL combine in which 335 of the best college football players put their skills on display for NFL teams with millions of dollars at stake for some in attendance.

One of the players who has a lot to gain is former Louisville Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater who is one of a handful candidates mentioned as a potential No. 1 overall draft pick.

With other quarterbacks possessing more upside like former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles from UCF, Bridgewater’s known commodity has become overshadowed a bit, but Mayock thinks he’s the one more prepared to play in the NFL.

With the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns all picking in the top four and needing a quarterback to step in right away, it’s a safe bet to say Bridgewater will be taken in the first four in May’s draft.

If Mayock is correct with his assessment, he could help bring the Texans back to the playoffs with their collection of talent on the roster.
