Carey Price to Start for Canada

While the United States has announced who it will start in Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup, Team Canada did the same. Mike Babcock has announced that Carey Price will be the man to lead the Canadians to battle on Wednesday when they take on the winner of the Switzerland vs. Latvia play-in qualifier.

Price has a .943 save percentage in his two games for the Canadians in Sochi, but despite backup Roberto Luongo earning a shutout in his only contest, Babcock feels that Price is the right man to backstop Canada to a potential repeat as Gold Medalist.

Canada will play its quarterfinal matchup Wednesday at Noon EST. That’s the same time the United States will take the ice for its quarterfinal game. Should both teams win, they have a date with one another in the semifinals on Friday.
