Rajon Rondo’s name will continue to come up in trade rumors until the deadline passes.
Earlier reports mentioned that the Toronto Raptors may have interest in the point guard.
Well, new reports are surfacing that the Boston Celtics‘ guard would not be too happy with the idea.
Rondo is set to hit free agency during the summer of 2015.
News is that if he is traded to the Raptors, he would not re-sign with the team.
The Raptors are already in a dilemma with their current point guard Kyle Lowry. Lowry is set to hit free agency this summer and his trade value has never been higher. With the team’s current success, the Raptors have struggled to convince themselves to trade the guard.
If Rondo was acquired it would certainly involve the departure of Lowry, but would the Raptors want to replicate this same issue next season with Rondo’s impending free agency?
Rondo has averaged 9.8 points and 7.1 assists in 27.2 minutes of game time. He’s played in just 10 games after being out with an ACL injury.
