One of the hottest players named in rumors over the last 24 hours has been Jarrett Jack, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard who has shot to the to of the trade rumor heat index after being passed around rumor circles. Jack was rumored along with the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings early on Tuesday, but his name first popped up in connection with the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.
According to Bob Finnan of the News-Herald, the Cavaliers and Nets have cooled on trade talks about Jack and the discussions are no longer on the front burner.
The Cavs and Brooklyn Nets have engaged in trade talks regarding Jarrett Jack for Jason Terry, a league source said. It’s not on the front burner, the source said. Terry is 36 and has one year left on his contract after this year worth $5.8 million. Jack, 30, has three years left on his deal after this year, only two that are guaranteed. He’ll make $6.3 million in each of the next two seasons.
This is potentially good news for the Kings, who are looking for a veteran guard and have been linked to Jack this morning thanks to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein.
