The New York Knicks will continue to make an effort. Other teams like the Sacramento Kings may attempt to do the same. But Rajon Rondo is not likely to be traded by the Boston Celtics, at least not right now – this according to SportingNews.
As has become the custom, any period of NBA trade activity features Celtics guard Rajon Rondo prominently. Also customary, though, is this: Sources told Sporting News this week that there is very little chance the Celtics find a deal involving Rondo this year.
On Monday, it was reported that the Celtics asking price for Rondo was two unprotected first round draft picks (we assume lottery picks). That’s of course outlandish, even for Rondo and no team is going to commit that type of price for a player (despite All-Star talent) who hasn’t played a full season in quite some time.
Given the relatively elevated asking price and the Celtics lack of desire to move Rondo, it appears the former Kentucky Wildcat will remain in Celtic green for the foreseeable future.
