A potential hot name on the trade market has suffered an injury.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that Sacramento Kings guard Isaiah Thomas has strained ligaments in his left/shooting wrist according to an MRI taken.
The Kings (18-35) have been active in trade talks with the deadline approaching Thursday.
There is no immediate information regarding if and how much time the 5’9″ guard would miss.
Thomas, 25, was the last pick of the 2011 draft.
He’s taken over the starting role this season and has put up career highs of 20.2 points and 6.3 assists in 34.2 minutes of action.
Isaiah Thomas is set to be a restricted free agent. His improved numbers and play may result in a big contract the Kings don’t want to pay, which may be why they have explored trade options for the guard.
