Less than 24 hours after becoming the first ice dancing pair from the United States to win an Olympic gold medal, Meryl Davis and Charlie White stopped by the set of the TODAY show on NBC to discuss their big win.
White was not shy about sharing the nerves he felt on the ice, when he opened up about the pair’s final skate of the 2014 Sochi Games.
“This is the biggest stage. This is what we dreamed about, the moment that we want to be able to take home and be so proud of,” White told TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie. “We were able to come through on the ice and make it count.”
Not only did the duo share their thoughts on their historic gold medal win, but White also showed off a hidden talent.
White had promised Guthrie and the TODAY show anchors that he would play her a song on the violin if the pair won gold and he delivered on his promise Tuesday morning.
In case you missed Al Roker doing a Russian jig in the background, you can relive that moment below:
Charlie White, ladies and gentlemen. A man of many talents.
