Ricky Town Ventura, Calif. St. Bonaventure) is the new No. 1 recruit in the nation according to 247Sports as the USC Trojans quarterback commit moved up two spots in the latest update.
Town previously committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, but backed off his pledge on Jan. 25, the same day he committed to USC. Town should be the next in a long line of great Trojans quarterbacks and help Steve Sarkisian get the program back to a point of national prominence.
The 6-4, 205-pound quarterback headlines a stellar group of Golden State signal-callers this cycle that also includes five-star Josh Rosen (Bellflower, Calif. St. John Bosco) and four-stars Blake Barnett (Corona, Calif. Santiago) and Brady White (Newhall, Calif. Hart).

The rest of the top five after Town is as follows: Terry Beckner, Jr. (East Saint Louis, Ill. East St Louis), Clemson Tigers commit Mitch Hyatt (Suwanee, Ga. North Gwinnett), Rosen and Martez Ivy (Apopka, Fla. Apopka).
Canton Kaumatule (Honolulu, Hi. Punahou) was the previous No. 1 recruit but fell five spots to No. 6.
