Boston College at Syracuse final score: Eagles stun top-ranked Orange in overtime, 62-59

All good things must come to an end, and on Wednesday night for the top-ranked Syracuse Orange, that meant that their unbeaten run would come to a close, and it did, just not at the hands of who actually did it–the Boston College Eagles.

Coming into the game with just six total wins on the season, Boston College went on the road to one of the more hostile environments in college basketball, the Carrier Dome, and ended Syracuse’s undefeated run at 25 games as they were able to grit out a 62-59 win in overtime.

Olivier Hanlan was the leading scorer in this shocking upset for Boston College, dropping in 20 points on the evening and adding in three assists.

Lonnie Jackson was the only other player from the Eagles to finish in double figures, adding in 10.

But, the story out of this one is that the Orange now drop to 25-1 on the season and suffered their first loss as a member of the ACC, to the team that may have been voted least likely to pull off that feat.
