Portland Trail Blazers All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge spoke with reporters about his strained left groin Wednesday.

Aldridge, who is expected to miss about a week of action, said he and the team are just being cautious with the injury:

We’re just being cautious right now. We all talked about it, and I think it’s just the best thing to do right now.

I really didn’t start feeling it until maybe the Minnesota game, but it wasn’t really bad ever. Just kind of nagging, really. It gets worse at night after I play or whatever. We just looked at it, and we’re just going to let it heal.

Aldridge continued on to say he thinks other Blazers will step up in his absence:

I think guys are gonna step up. We’ve got a lot of guys that have been wanting the opportunity, we have a lot of guys that can take their games to the next level and maybe have a bigger role. So I think guys are gonna play well.

Aldridge is scheduled to be re-evaluated next Tuesday.
