The Marshall Thundering went into Miami, Florida to get their first two commitments in the class of 2015.
On Wednesday, 3-star weak side defensive end/outside linebacker Fermin Silva and currently unrated outside linebacker Marquis Couch committed to Marshall.
Both players attend Miami Central High School. Central is known for producing fantastic college football players. In the class of 2014, they sent 5-star running back Dalvin Cook and 3-star defensive tackle Frederick Jones to the Florida State Seminoles and 4-star running Joseph Yearby to the Miami Hurricanes.
Couch is 6’0 and 200 pounds while Silva is 6’1 and weighs 215 pounds.

The evenings first commitment came from three star defensive end Fermin Silva. After a junior season in which he made 47 tackles and 15 sacks, Silva was named to the All-Dade Football 6A-8A First Team. The 6-foot-1, 215 pound defender also received scholarship offers from South Florida and Appalachian State. Earlier this month The Miami-Herald named him one of areas top 50 football prospects heading into the summer.
Silva is ranked as the 43rd best outside linebacker prospect, the 105th best overall prospect in Florida and the 802nd overall best prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
