Earlier today it was reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers, fearing Luol Deng will not re-sign at season end, have opened up trade discussions for their recently acquired small forward.
Multiple teams have expressed interest in the veteran who the Cavs brought in from the Bulls in late mid-January, including the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings – this according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.
Both the Kings and the Warriors are a bit of an odd fit at first glance given their relatively fluid small forward situations, with the Warriors having Andre Iguoldala, Harrison Barnes and even Klay Thompson to man the position while Sacramento has Rudy Gay.
Of course, both franchises could attempt to get creative with their positioning and attempt to run a unique lineup with Deng serving as a big two-guard.
It does not appear as if any trade is imminent between any of the clubs, but just that they’ve discussed potential trade scenarios around the former Chicago Bull.
