Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton suffered a torn ACL back in September, and now he is preparing for the NFL’s free agency period. When healthy, Melton was one of the most impressive players on the team’s defense, but there are some questions about whether or not he will be returning to the team in 2014.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears have yet to offer a contract to Melton and he has as little of a clue as the rest of us about what his future holds.

“I honestly have no clue,” Melton said. “I’ve had positive conversations. It’s kind of like the draft. You have positive conversations with a lot of teams. They like you but you’re definitely not sure until it happens.”

If the Bears decide against bringing Melton back next season, there will be plenty of teams lining up to bring him to town.

When you are a disruptive defensive tackle who is still just 27 years old, the market will be there.
