Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is obviously a star on the court, but he’s just as big a star off it.

Durant is quite active when it comes to charity and the community, something he proved yet again recently when he – along with actor/comedian Kevin Hart and St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin all called a 13-year-old boy who was recovering from brain surgery.

The call wasn’t publicized until the boy’s father told TMZ about it.

TMZ Sports has learned … Kevin Durant, actor Kevin Hart and NFL star Tavon Austin called up 13-year-old Mikka on Thursday after learning about the brave boy’s battle with a brain condition.

We spoke to Mikka’s dad who tells us, “Before they called, his energy level was low … but those guys really picked him up. They actually brought a smile to his face.”

He adds, “Mikka didn’t believe it. When Kevin Durant called I said, ‘It’s really K.D.’”

The feel-good call was in support of the teen, but it was also to wish him a happy birthday.

Wonderful story and amazing act from both Kevin’s and Tavon.
