Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho called Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger a “specialist in failure” as they continue to exchange words in public.
“He is a specialist in failure, I am not,” Mourinho said, via Sky Sports. “If he is right and I have a fear of failure it is because I don’t fail many times. So maybe he is right?
“The reality is he’s a specialist because eight years without a piece of silverware, that is failure. If I did that in Chelsea I would leave London and not come back.”
As Arsenal prepares to take on Bayern Munich in Champions League action, Wenger is finding a supporter in an unlikely source, his managing counter part Pep Guardiola.
“This life is not just about winning trophies,” insisted Guardiola, via Sky Sports.
“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Arsenal compete with huge teams. Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City – they are important teams. But Arsenal remains a good team and good club.
“I have a lot of respect for my colleague Arsene: he always likes the good, good players, the good style of football.”
