Texas Tech walk-on wide receiver Clancy David wins halftime dunk contest

During halftime of the men’s basketball team’s game against the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks on Tuesday, the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team held a dunk contest after a ceremony honoring their Holiday Bowl victory over the Arizona Sate Sun Devils.

Five football players competed in the contest: linebacker Sam Eguavoen, receiver Clancy David, receiver Brad Pearson, defensive back Justis Nelson, and receiver Jakeem Grant. Of the group, it was David, a walk-on, who claimed the victory thanks to this impressive 360:

The Red Raiders almost pulled off the huge upset, but Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins — not the one who defeated the Formics — save the Jayhawks with this last-second shot.
