According to the Los Angeles Times, the UCLA Bruins have hired Mike Tuiasosopo to be the team’s new linebackers coach. Tuiasosopo will fill the void left by Lou Spanos, who left the Bruins to take a job with the Tennessee Titans back in January.

The school has yet to release an official statement about the hiring.

Tuiasosopo most recently served as the defensive line coach for the Colorado Buffaloes. However, he was not retained when the school decided to bring in Mike MacIntyre to replace Jon Embree last year.

Before his stint with the Buffaloes, Tuiasosopo spent seven seasons as the defensive line coach of the Arizona Wildcats. During each of his last three years with the Wildcats, Tuiasosopo’s defense led the conference in sacks.

Tuiasosopo has also coached at Utah, Nevada, and Utah State.
