Longtime Bantamweight contender, Brad Pickett, was set to make his UFC Flyweight debut in London this March against perennial contender, Ian McCall. Unfortunately, McCall was forced out of yet another fight with an injury, and the UFC was forced to scramble for another opponent.
With the bout being in London, visa issues are certainly a factor when it comes to picking a replacement. Luckily, the UFC found a great short notice replacement in Cage Warriors Flyweight champion, Neil Seery. UFC’s United Kingdom twitter handle broke the news earlier:
Fight Announcement! Brad Pickett will meet Dubliner Neil Seery at #UFCLondon on March 8th. Seery replaces the injured Ian McCall.

Seery is from Dublin, Ireland and is 13-9 in his career. He will be taking a huge step up in competition when he faces off against Brad Pickett in just a few weeks. 11 of Seery’s victories have come by way of finish, so we can expect an exciting fight come fight night.
Brad Pickett will look to make an impression at Flyweight after his career has stalled at Bantamweight. Interestingly enough, Pickett is currently the only UFC Flyweight on the roster that has a win over the champion, Demetrious Johnson. Back at WEC 48, Pickett defeated Johnson in a Bantamweight bout by unanimous decision.
