With plenty of buzz and names linked to the Dallas Mavericks, nothing was able to get done as the trade deadline came and gone.
The Mavericks President of Basketball Operations Don Nelson held a press conference as soon as the deadline ended.
Nelson regarding team chemistry,
We put a very high price tag on chemistry. It’s been that way ever since I’ve here, Mark’s been our owner, and Dirk’s been our best player.
The Mavericks were linked to names such as Spencer Hawes, Evan Turner, Luol Deng, Jordan Hill, and others.
Nelson also noted how the new CBA has made trading more difficult.
The Mavericks retooled their roster during the offseason, brining in Monta Ellis, Jose Calderon, Devin Harris, DeJuan Blair, and Samuel Dalembert.
The Mavs are finally healthy, and they’re gambling their season and another great year from the 35-year old Dirk Nowitzki that the pieces they currently have will make it work as they push for a playoff spot.
