The Magic began discussions with the forward not too long ago after not being able to trade him prior to the NBA Trade Deadline.
Details of the buyout have not been released yet, but as Yahoo has reported, this should be official by Friday morning.
Expect the Los Angeles Clippers and other contending teams to look into the services of the 6-year veteran.
Davis had one season remaining after this year left on his deal.
Davis has averaged 12.1 points and 6.3 assists in 45 games (43 starts).
