Marvel Introduces us to Guardians of the Galaxy's Drax (video)

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’s is scheduled to hit theaters on August 1st, 2014. A cast that features Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and John C. Reilly just to name a few.

Now just a little bit ago, FanSided’s Entertainment Editor Tasha Meares posted an introduction from Marvel about Rocket Raccoon. A character that may look like a cute/furry little creature, but can become your worst nightmare in a drop of a hat.

She also posted one on Groot. Something that appears to be a walking tree warrior of some sort. Now if you’re unfamiliar with the movie or comic book, here’s an idea of what it’s about courtesy of the Guardians of Galaxy Facebook page:

“Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.”

Now let’s take a look at Drax.

Drax is played by former WWE/World Heavyweight Champion Dave ‘The Animal’ Batista/Bautista. This was a project that Dave worked on before he made his return to the World Wrestling Entertainment and is familiar with the Syfy setting due to working with Guardian of the Galaxy’s co-star Vin Diesel in ‘Riddick’.

Batista’s character Drax, could be compared to God of Wars’ very own Kratos. The man is hell bent on seeking revenge and won’t rest until he finally gets it. I’m not sure exactly who crossed this characters path, but I feel sorry for whoever it is.

Now here’s a look at a featurette on Bautista’s character ‘Drax’ from Marvel’s next feature film, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Pretty excited to see this movie.

Once again, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 1, 2014.
