Marvel Releases First Official Poster for Guardians of the Galaxy

I think it would be a fair assumption that we can dub today Guardians of the Galaxy reveal day. Marvel has been incredibly generous to us the past few days. Just as we were coming off of our high from the release of the first official trailer for the upcoming film, they decided to bless us with five short featurettes that introduced us to the feisty Rocket Raccoon, his giant tree creature companion Groot, Drax the Destroyer, the assassin Gamora, and last, but certainly not least, Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord. Now, Marvel Studios has released the first official poster for the upcoming epic.

Just in case you are somehow not familiar with the premise of the film, here is a quick look at the official synopsis for the film courtesy of the Guardians of the Galaxy Official Facebook Page.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” finds space adventurer Peter Quill the object of a bounty hunt after stealing an orb coveted by a treacherous villain, but when Quill discovers the power it holds, he must find a way to rally the quartet of ragtag rivals hot on his trail to save the universe.”

The new poster gives me somewhat of a Star Wars meets Firefly type of vibe. Each member of the group stands with the weapon at the ready; well, except Groot who probably doesn’t need a weapon. Behind them is their spaceship known as The Milano.
