On Thursday evening, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Orlando Magic were working on a buyout with veteran power forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis.

The Magic obviously tried to trade Davis during on Thursday, but found no takers. With the way this trade deadline went, that’s no surprise. The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t get a second round pick for expiring big men Jordan Hill and Chris Kaman. Hill appeared to be highly sought after and the Lakers couldn’t trade him, so it’s no surprise the Magic couldn’t trade Davis, who is owed $6.4 million this year and $6.6 million next season. That salary also makes it a surprise the Magic are buying him out.

The Clippers are in need of a big man, so Davis, despite his struggles with the Magic, does make a lot of sense.

Davis is averaging 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this season.
