After their trade earlier today, the Philadelphia 76ers now own nine second round draft picks – something they’re looking to change with the potential addition of Chris Kaman.
According to Ramona Shelburne, the Sixers and Los Angeles Lakers are in talks regarding a trade about center Chris Kaman.
Lakers engaged in discussions with Philadelphia on Chris Kaman, according to sources
Kaman is an expiring contract and has no future with the Lakers, who are trying to get anything they can for the veteran big man.
As for Philadelphia – it’s a bit of an odd fit considering they’re in full out youth mode and won’t be bringing back Kaman at the end of the season. It’s possible Philadelphia could be attempting to acquire a young player on the Lakers roster in addition to Kaman in exchange for a possible second round pick.
Earlier in the day, the Sixers traded away starting center Spencer Hawes to the Cleveland Cavaliers so they do have a need in the short term, but little future need for Kaman.
