Sacramento Kings waive Roger Mason Jr.

Roger Mason Jr. won’t get the opportunity to put on a Sacramento Kings uniform.

The Kings have officially waived the 9-year veteran after acquiring him from the Miami Heat.

The Kings acquired the guard along with cash from the Heat for a highly protective second round pick.

Mason averaged 3 points on 35.4% shooting from 3 this season in 25 games this season.

Teams that could use guard help and 3-pt shooting may look into bringing in the guard.

Mason latched on to the Heat this summer after being making it out of their training camp and preseason.

By pulling off this trade the Heat were able to clear a roster spot in the event to pick up any players who are waived or on the free agent market.

Mason holds career average of 6.3 points on 38.3% 3-pt shooting.
