A night after getting traded, Steve Blake will make his debut tonight for the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors host the Houston Rockets tonight at 7:30 PM PT.

Blake should stabilize the backup guard spots for the Warriors, something that Toney Douglas (traded to Miami Heat) and Jordan Crawford (midseason acquisitions from Boston Celtics) have not been able to do.

Blake has averaged 9.5 points and 7.6 assists this season.

Blake should also fill in the role that Jarrett Jack did last season by playing both guard positions and allowing Stephen Curry to play off the ball.

The Warriors (32-22) are currently in a four team race for the final three spots of the west.

Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies are all separated by just two games.

The Rockets played last night against the Lakers and won single-handedly. But in the first meeting between the Rockets and Lakers, Steve Blake hit the game winning three over Dwight Howard to give the Lakers a 99-98 win in Houston.

The Lakers sent Blake to the Warriors for guards Kent Bazemore and Marshon Brooks.

Andrew Bogut continues to be out with a shoulder injury.
