The Indiana Pacers shocked the NBA world when they traded for Evan Turner in the very final moments before the trade deadline passed but fans of the league weren’t the only ones shocked to see the trade happen. Evan Turner himself has admitted that he didn’t see a trade to the second best team in basketball coming, but he’s not at all complaining about it.

Per the Indianapolis Star:

"“Definitely excited. Still shocked; I thought the trade deadline was over. I was actually setting up my postseason (vacation) with my agent’s assistant and pretty much when I was telling her the days I wanted to go. (Then) she said, ‘Well, no we can’t book (those days), you’ve just got traded.’"

Turner was the surprise acquisition of the deadline and he’s going to be closely watched and scrutinized for breaking up team chemistry in Indiana. His addition could be something the boosts the Pacers into the Finals, or it could be the beginning of a downward spiral thanks the the chemistry being thrown off.

Only time will tell.
