The day we’ve all been waiting for is here as Space Jam 2 is finally in development. While LeBron James tried to chase Michael Jordan as the greatest player ever, there’s always been one thing lacking from his resume — Space Jam. Apparently King James has found a fix for that as Deadline is reporting that Space Jam 2 is in development and is very likely happening.
What’s up, doc? A broken nose. Ouch! After he recovers from the injury suffered in last night’s game, NBA MVP LeBron James will be ready for his close-up — with Bugs Bunny.
Broadcasting veteran Dick Ebersol‘s sons have come on board to develop the sequel to 1996 animated/live-action hit Space Jam as a starring vehicle for James, the Miami Heatstar who broke his nose during last night’s game against the Oklahoma City when the Thunder’s Serge Ibaka got him in the face after a dunk.
This has long been a joke among fans, but the joke is no longer something to giggle about as it’s slowly becoming a reality. James has been getting into the entertainment business more and more, and what a way to kick off his acting career than to step in Michael Jordan’s shoes off the court and replace him in Space Jam 2?
No release date has been announced as the film is still being developed — but it’s finally happening.
