Liam Hendriks claimed by Blue Jays

Liam Hendriks almost made it through the waivers process as an Oriole, but instead will be donning the blue and white of Toronto.

The 25-year old was claimed by the Blue Jays on Friday afternoon. He had been designated for assignment after Baltimore officially signed Ubaldo Jimenez. Prior to that, Hendriks was claimed off of waivers by the Orioles from the Cubs, who claimed him off of waivers from the Minnesota Twins.

In three years with the Twins, the starter had a miserable time, going 2-13 with a 6.06 ERA in 28 total starts since 2011. He will likely report to minor league camp with Toronto. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays designated Brent Morel for assignment.
