You know, the Baltimore Orioles could simplify things and just sign everybody.
They have signed Ubaldo Jimenez and been linked to the next biggest prize at starting pitcher Ervin Santana. They are in on the two biggest free agent prizes on offense as well, because why wouldn’t they be?
Some with #Orioles prefer Morales, others Cruz. Interesting divide. Either way told nothing imminent. We’ll see. Curious how plays out

This comes at approximately the same time as a report that the team was intensifying talks with Morales. It’s at this point that Morales’s most recent employer, the Seattle Mariners, could have an impact on these proceedings. With a market that is otherwise weak for Cruz and Morales, the Mariners are another team that has expressed interest in both players.
They might have more incentive, of course, to sign Morales due to familiarity and the fact that he would not cost them a draft pick (though it would cost them a chance to get an extra draft pick, but, you know). With them looming, the Orioles might have more pressure to act now if they want Morales than they do if they want Cruz.
