NBA Rumors: Brooklyn Nets emerging as frontrunner to sign Glen Davis?

The Orlando Magic waived Glen Davis on Thursday night and after buying him out he may now sign with any team that wants him. Despite there being hardly any interest in him at the trade deadline, a decent list of teams have emerged with interest in singing Davis, but two seem to be battling it out as frontrunners.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were strong candidates to sign Davis, but he also notes that so too are the Brooklyn Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets, who like the Clippers are searching for a backup big man, have signficant interest in Davis too, league sources said.

The Nets missed out on a chance to add Lakers big man Jordan Hill at the deadline, despite being in seemingly serious talks to get him. Those talks made it clear that money is not an object for the Nets, so if they need to outbid the Clippers or teams like the Miami Heat or Golden State Warriors, they seem ready to do that.
